FAQ #45 – What adaptor do I need for a Leafield Marine A7 (or B7) valve and how do I connect it onto my Bravo/Scoprega inflation pump?

FAQ #45 – What adaptor do I need for a Leafield Marine A7 (or B7) valve and how do I connect it onto my Bravo/Scoprega inflation pump?

The best adaptor for the Leafield Marine A7 and B7 inflation/deflation boat valves is the Pump Bellows Pipe End Adaptor which actually fits a huge range of Leafield Marine valves including the A4, A5, A7, B7, C7, D7 & A8 valves.

One end of the adaptor pushes into the centre of the valve. There is a choice of ½” and ¾” diameter for the other end, which pushes into the hose on a pump. However, lots of hoses are typically 16mm or 20mm, so they don’t always fit so well.

To save your maths, ½” is 12.7mm and ¾” is 19mm.

Many pumps such as the Bravo 1, Bravo GP5, Bravo GP10 and Bravo 6 come with a trio of adaptors – typically grey or black in colour.

Here's a photo of all the adaptor parts mentioned so far.

One part of the trio pushes into the hose and then the two thin nozzles can connect onto the part protruding from the hose. The Leafield Pump bellows Pipe End Adaptor will push snuggly onto one of these thin nozzles as shown in the photos.

Some glue or similar would help keep the Leafield adaptor on the trio, which does need to be trimmed down slightly, but this does mean you can use the best adaptor to inflate your boat tubes.
